I was born 21 April 1949 in Carmel, Monterey, California. My parents are George Allison Linn and Wilma Frankie Montierth. When I was a toddler my family moved to Cottonwood, Coconino, Arizona for a short time. When I was four years old my family moved to San Jose, Santa Clara, California where I spent the rest of my childhood. On 3 August 1957 I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by my grandfather Orville Lee Lucas. This took place in Monterey, Monterey, California. I have two sisters Ada Frankie and Ada Andrea. On 21 May 1961 I was sealed to my parents and sisters for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles California temple. While in high school I worked on the yearbook for two years and was Assistant Editor my Senior year. At on time I thought I might want to become a dietician and was awarded the Bank of America Award in the field of Homemaking my Senior year. I graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, Santa Clara, California in June, 1967. I graduated from four years of Seminary and was Seminary President my Senior year. I attended one quarter at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah an then returned home because my mother was very ill. Upon returning home I attended Victor Keypunch School in San Jose, Santa Clara, California and worked at Norton Company - payroll department - in Santa Clara, California for one year. While working at Norton Company I met and married my first husband, Melvin Lee Brooks. We were married 17 August 1970 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. My first child Melissa Kay was born 13 September 1969 in Carmel, Monterey, California. Melvin adopted Melissa on 6 December 1972 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California. Melvin and I had a son, George Allison, on 23 June 1972 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California. We were divorced 22 February 1973 in Modesto, Stanislaus, California. I married Rustico deLeon Tiapson on 29 January 1977 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. We have two children - Tami Linn, born 24 November 1977, in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, and Joseph Linn, born 17 October 1979, in San Jose, Santa Clara, California. My husband, Rusty was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 7 August 1992 in Sonora, Tuolumne, California. Rusty, the four children and I were sealed in the Oakland California temple as an eternal family on 21 April 1995. When my mom passed away in 1982 I felt a need to make a change. In 1983 Rusty, the children and I moved to Willits, Mendocino, California to be near my sister and her family. Rusty kept his job in San Jose and commuted until the 350 mile round trip became too much to handle. In 1987 he was offered a job in Sonora, Tuolumne, California and the whole family moved there. For me, life has always been centered on raising my children and taking care of the family's needs. I love to sew and cook. I have held several positions in my church - Sunday School Secretary, Primary teacher, Relief Society teacher and for the past nineteen months have tremendously enjoyed being Primary Secretary and working with children under twelve in my ward. I also love genealogy and have been on staff at the Family History Center in Sonora, Tuolumne, California since 1991. Rusty and I now have five grandchildren whom we love and adore. We are looking forward to Rusty's retirement soon and moving to Wyoming where the entire family is in the process of migrating to. _________________________________Source Note Looking at source 01204 could lead one to believe that Linda's second husband was undertaking a legal adoption process for the children born out of Linda's first marriage after those children had reached adulthood. However, in a conversation with Linda (01357:7) it became clear that Linda's father had written a large portion of source 01204 years before the portion written by Linda in 1992. When he was writing his part, there was indeed a legal adoption process underway.
