2005 Reunion Welcomes New Attendees |

The annual reunion of the descendants of Andrew
Linn, Sr. was held July 22 - 24, 2005. This year the main event was held in Pavilion
1, which was news to this author! This location is closer to the playground and the
facilities so we took the opporuntity to benefit from both. The new Pavilion was not
the only change for the year as we welcomed some first time attendees from California and
others from North Carolina. Ann Kane led the West Coast delegation that included her sons Barry, Steven, and Bret, daughter-in-law Julia, and grandson Nicholas. It was a great pleasure to meet them and tour one of the local cemeteries, which resulted a genealogy mystery regarding her grandfather's name! We may be scratching our heads for some time trying to straighten this one out. We discussed that meeting extended family members and learning their stories is one of the most rewarding parts of both the reunion and genealogy work. Audrey Rabb took the lead for the North Carolina delegation bringing along her parents (Marvin and Louise) and daughter Lindsay. While they did not travel as far as the West Coast folks, they did manage to experience severe traffic on the way north that turned the drive into a very long day. These folks were in town a day early so we had an opporuntity so Brian Linn and Jan Dishon had an opportunity to spend additional time with them swapping stories over lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Hopefully, the above includes all first time attendees and we trust that you will contact us if this is in error! The photo below was taken by Bill Linn and records the official attendance of the year. There is one addition though because Don and Donna Havens, together with her mother Helen came shortly after the photo was taken. Speaking of missing first timers above, it must be mentioned that this was Helen's first time at the reunion and we appreciated her joining us. |

For those unable to attend this year, you did miss out on a fun time, including Friday evening's pot luck dinner, cemetery tours, a farm tour, brunch, a campfire (with toasted marshmellows) and the every popular white elephant sale. Please consider joining us next year! | |
