Linn was born March 16, 1839 in Centre County, Pennsylvania, and died December 2, 1926, at the home of her son in Downs, aged 87 years 8 months and 28 days. She was one of a family of thirteen children. In 1856 her parents moved with their family to Yorkville, Illinois. Her mother died and she was left with the care of the younger children, whom she raised to maturity. She was married to Jonathan W. Addison in the year 1872. They moved at once to Osborne, Kansas, where they resided until death claimed them, the husband dying May 4, 1915. Three children were born to them but death has claimed two, Arthur L., who passed away about seven years ago, and a daughter, Dora Hibbs, who died May 18 of this year (1926). Since her daughter's death, Mrs. Addison has made her home with her only surviving son, Fred, who resides north of Downs. Besides her son she leaves ten grandchildren, one aged sister and three brothers. She is the last charter member of the M. E. church of Osborne and has been a Methodist more than sixty years. She was a faithful and true Christian. She brought comfort to those that mourned and visited and cared for the sick. She was patient in suffering and cheerful and kind to those about her in her last sickness and closing years of life. She was loved by all who knew here and her going leaves an aching heart and empty void in both loved ones and friends. She was ready and anxious to go to her eternal home. Funeral services were held at the Mehodist church in Osborne Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. L.F. Arend and interment was made in the Osborne Cemetery. __________________________For Additional Information See a letter in the Express, likely the February 28, 1856 issue (01409:7).
