50. William R.3 Linn (James A.2, Andrew1)(582) was born 1850. William died April 2, 1924 at 73 years of age. His body was interred in Blanchard, PA.

He married Mary C. McBride May 15, 1878.(583) Mary was born 1858. (Additional notes for Mary C. McBride(584)) Mary died April 1922 at 63 years of age.

William R. and Mary C. McBride Linn were one of at least four new families with the Linn surname to come to Beech Creek during the 1870s (00853:115). The marriage (presumably the license or record) lists her address as Mill Hall (00838:45). During the 1870's, Charles Keyes established himself as a tinner in Beech Creek and was followed by William R. Linn who practiced the trade until about the time of his death. Apparently, he often spelled his name Lynn without any good reason. (00853:37) Both William and Mary are buried in the Baptist Cemetery and the name on the tombstone is Lynne (01409:8). Brian Linn picked up somewhere during the course of researching this material that William may have gone by Bill. __________________________For Additional Information See the Clinton Democrat of August 8, 1878 (00838:45). __________________________________Conflict The date listed on 00947:2 and 01409:8 indicates the wedding date was May 16 as opposed to May 15. Probably the 15th is correct.

William R. Linn and Mary C. McBride had the following children:

child 180 i. Al4 Linn(585).

child 181 ii. Della Linn(586). She married Clarence Garbecht.(587) (Additional notes for Clarence Garbecht(588))
