He married twice. He married Hannah 'Sophia' Stover.(560) Hannah was born 1854.(561) Hannah(562) was the daughter of John A. Stover and Catherine Reichley. Hannah died March 1926 in Manheim, PA, at 71 years of age.(563) Her body was interred After March 1926 in Blanchard, PA, Blanchard.(564) ________________________FUNERAL OF MRS. J. K. P. LINN The funeral of Mrs. Sophia Linn, widow of the late J.K. Polk Linn, former residents of Blanchard, was held Sunday afternoon, services being conducted in the Baptist church by Rev. Williams of Williamsport, a Baptist minister and friend of the deceased following a brief service at the home of the deceased's brother, O.J. Stover. At the church a quartet, composed of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Bowes, Milton Kunes and Mrs. Virgil Ridge sang several selections with Chauncey DeLong at the piano. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The attendance of relatives and friends was very large notwithstanding the storm that prevailed. The casket bearers were four nephews, Joseph and Orrie Kunes, of Lock Haven; Clyde and Porter Kunes and the husbands of two nieces of the deceased, Charles P. Lindsey and Jacob Bowes. (Beech Creek News March 4, 1926 see 00838:54) __________________________DEATH OF FORMER RESIDENT Mrs. Sophia Linn widow of the late J. Polk Linn, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mabel, wife of Weber Thomas at Manheim, Pa., with whom she had resided for several years after giving up her home in Blanchard. Death followed thirty-six hours after a stroke of apoplexy, prior to which she had been in her usual good health. Surviving are the daughter and two brothers, Orville J. Stover, of Blanchard, and John Stover, of Williamsport. the deceased was aged about 73 years. She retained her membership in the baptist church of Blanchard. The body, accompanied by relatives, will arrive in Blanchard on the 5 p.m. train today and will be taken to the home of the brother, O.J. Stover. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment in the Baptist cemetery. The deceased was always a highly respected woman and her many friends in this vicinity were saddened to learn of her sudden passing away. He married Mary Ann Brickley June 29, 1869.(565) Mary was born November 4, 1853. Mary(566) was the daughter of Samuel Brickley and Mary J. Wagner. Mary died December 16, 1869 at 16 years of age. At age 24, in 1870, J. Polk was a canal boatman living in Liberty Township with the Samuel S. and Mary J. Brickley family (00838:4). The Brickleys were the parents of his first wife, who died only months after J. Polk and she were married. Mary Ann is buried in the Nestlerode Cemetery (00838:23). J. Polk's son Frank died only several weeks prior to Polk. Note the middle initial J for Mary, her maiden name was Wagner so perhaps J represented her given middle name. According to source 01409:14, he lived in California but no mention is made of when, at what age, or for how long he lived there (01490:14).
177 iv. Mabel Linn(572) was born 1885. She married B. Weber Thomas June 1910.(573) B. was born April 1883. B.(574) was the son of Thomas Thomas and Clara Weber.
