Institution: institution unknown. She resides in Johnston, IA 1992. Without question, Heather possesses qualities that enable those who know her to identify her as a Linn: of particular note are her straightforward approach and wit. Heather's extended family on the Linn side is not known for any special musical or dance ability; her abilities demonstrated in this area must have come from her mother's side of the family! In both high school and college, she was active in concert and marching band. Heather studied dance for 12 years and enjoys tap, ballet, toe and jazz. (00945) She graduated from Valley High School and went on to attend Simpson College where she earned a B.A. in Political Science (00945) Politically conservative, she is a Rush Limbaugh fan and active in the Republican Party. While in college, Heather was president, vice president and activities director for Kappa Phi an organization for Christian women. After graduating college, she took a job with R & R Investors, Inc. and later joined Wellington and Winwood Apartments as Marketing Director. (00945) On September 9, 1995, Heather married Charles "Chuck" Hennick; the invitation read as follows. "Mr. and Mrs. Jean A. Linn request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Heather Allyson to Charles Vaughn Hennick son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Hennick on Saturday, the ninth day of September nineteen hundred and ninety-five at three-thirty in the afternoon West Des Moines United Methodist Church 720 Grand Avenue West Des Moines, Iowa" (01273). The invitation included a very nice map and noted that there would be a dinner reception immediately following the ceremony at the Fort Des Moines Hotel. The marriage was performed by Dr. Stout and the music was provided by Marian Brown (organist) and Kelly Huxford (soloist). Musical selections included Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D, Jeremiah Clark's Trumpet Voluntary in D Major and The Lord's Prayer by Alfred Hay Malotte. The maid of honor was Nickie Whitaker and the best man was Al Good. Brian Linn had the pleasure of serving as an usher and Letha Linn was able to attend. As an aside, Letha Linn (at 98) desired to walk down the aisle on the arm of an usher but decided in favor of using her wheel chair in light of arthritis, which was bothering her knees. Brian was pleased to have the opportunity to seat the bride's mother, his aunt. Another usher, Robert McAdams once dated the bride; it was nice to see that he and Heather had remained good friends. The reception allowed the guests to have a wonderful meal and enjoy visiting with one another. The disk jockey played many songs, a lot of them country, and all those who danced enjoyed themselves. The day was very special and clearly one where the memories of each wedding participant and guest alike will be cherished for years to come.
