He married Clair A. Nestleroad September 15, 1923.⁽²⁴⁵³⁾ Clair was born in Pittsburgh, PA April 14, 1904. Clair⁽²⁴⁵⁴⁾ was the daughter of John Nestlerode and Alice Duffey. Clair died February 14, 1990 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming Co., PA, at 85 years of age. Her body was interred in Jersey Shore, Lycoming Co., PA.

Howard graduated in Beech Creek, Clinton Co., PA, 1921.
